<description><![CDATA[In 2006 Isai Jess Muñoz is scheduled to make his debut with The American Composers Symphony at Carnegie Hall, The Ridgewood Symphony of New Jersey, The Spokane Symphony and The Utah Festival Opera both as Sancho in Man of la Mancha and Basilio in Le Nozze di Figaro. As a much sought after interpreter of the Character Tenor repertoire, some of his favorite roles include Die Tanzmeister in Ariadne auf Naxos, Pedrillio in Mozart's Abduction, Goro in Madama Butterfly and the Sorceress in Dido and Aeneas. Mr. Muñoz has appeared with The American Symphony Orchestra, The Ohio Light Opera, The Cincinnati Opera, The Center for Contemporary Opera, The New Jersey Verismo Opera, New York’s 92nd Street Y, The Bard Summerscape Festival, the highly prestigious Edinburgh Fringe Festival of Scotland and many more. He is a two-time winner of The Dayton Opera Guild Competition and grand-prize winner of The National Orpheus Competition. Mr. Muñoz's discography includes the complete recordings of: Gilbert and Sullivan's Yeoman of the Guard, Kalman's Sari, Victor Herbert's The Red Mill, Pasatieri's The Seagull, and J. D. McClatchy and Frances Thorne’s Mario and the Magician all with Albany Records. Mr. Muñoz holds a Master's Degree in Vocal Performance from The Manhattan School of Music and a Bachelors Degree in Vocal Performance and Acting from the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. <description><![CDATA[<p><img src="http://stuff.isaijessmunoz.com/about/img/AH-IsaiM_0138.jpg" align="left" hspace="4" vspace="4">A native of Orlando, Florida, the young emerging tenor, Isai Jess Muñoz, is impressing and delighting audiences with his extraordinary blend of warm and colorful voice, powerful stage presence, and innate musicality.<br />
<br />
Mr. Munoz begins the 2009/2010 season with returning engagements to Rimrock Opera and New York City Opera with productions of Carmen, The Marriage of Figaro, and Antony and Cleopatra.  Mr Muñoz will then return to Stony Brook Opera to sing the role of Sam in Street Scene followed by performances of Lenia in Cavalli’s Eliogabalo. On the concert stage he will be featured in recitals with Music Theater Bavaria in Germany, The Verbier Music Festival of Switzerland, and Alvin Ailey Dance at New York's City Center.<br />

Recent engagements in 2007-2008 included A tribute to Academy Award Winner Ennio Morricone at Radio City Music Hall,the world premier of Carl Maultsby's The Psalms of Ruby Redd Off-Broadway at AMAS, and King Arthur directed by Mark Morris at The New York City Opera. In 2006 Isai Jess debuted as Borsa in Rigoletto with The Spokane Symphony, as Camille in The Merry Widow with The Ridgewood Symphony of New Jersey, and as Basilio in Le Nozze di Figaro and Sancho Panza in Man of la Mancha with The Utah Festival Opera. He was also privileged to make his Carnegie Hall debut with The American Composers Symphony Orchestra. <br />

He has received critical acclaim nationwide for his interpretations of Die Tanzmeister in Ariadne auf Naxos, Pedrillo in Die Entführung aus dem Serail, Goro in Madama Butterfly, the Sorceress in Dido and Aeneas and Sancho Panza in Man of la Mancha. <br />

As an avid performer of the concert stage, Isai Jess has been a featured soloist with the Israeli Philharmonic Chamber Music Concert Series at the Tel Aviv Museum of Art, and in churches and performance spaces across New York City, among them Lincoln Center, The Riverside Church, Church of the Ascension, and Saint Peter’s Church. <br />

Mr. Muñoz can be heard on the complete recordings of: Gilbert and Sullivan's Yeoman of the Guard, Kalman's Sari, Victor Herbert's The Red Mill, Pasatieri's The Seagull, and J. D. McClatchy and Frances Thorne's Mario and the Magician with Albany Records.  He can also be heard on the grammy nominated Spanish and Catalan album Song of the Stars with the Voices of Ascension.<br />

He holds a Master's Degree in Vocal Performance from The Manhattan School of Music and a Bachelors Degrees in Vocal Performance and Acting from the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. He is a two-time winner of The Dayton Opera Guild Competition and grand-prize winner of The National Orpheus Competition.
